I would really like use the j Query Validation plugin in my ASP. I find it easier than adding asp validators everywhere and setting the control to validate field on all of them. Yo can read about it here: For Share Point 2010 I found with loading different usercontrols as views (via ajax) that this worked if you move javascript into a library and can't use server tags for the control id's like this: e.g Further to this if you dynamically load a user control via Ajax then you cannot use $(document).ready You will have to encapsulate the j Query in a function library if its on the User Control at (server side event) page load its fine but in the scenario its loaded via Ajax with the Update Panel it will not dance.

I am just having some issues both when setting the class like this class="required email" which I think has something to do with having a form tag within the main form tag. I have not tried loading usercontrols via j Query yet, this looks heavy and appears to load the whole page albeit perhaps slightly quicker or not.

you have to click ok button of confirm dialog, then it will fire the validator. Masterpage contains some buttons to navigate to pages. I have used above js code in the pages and its working fine. And Also, it is displaying a lot of meesage including the system and user defined.

But my problem is, it firing all the times when even I clcik a button event where ever it may be. Can I have control over the system generated message?

The Name textbox works very similarly but we don’t have quite as elaborate validation logic. The validated event works the same, only pass it the name textbox instead. Here is just the validating event handler’s code: The event driven validation model in Win Forms is powerful and flexible enough to allow you to create high quality apps that implement robust and maintainable validation code in your forms. Is my syntax worng or does the On Client Click over ride the validation?Sorry Martin, i've already tried using 'On Client Click' through the property of the button during design time and setting the property during runtime. [quote user="xazos79"] Sorry Martin, i've already tried using 'On Client Click' through the property of the button during design time and setting the property during runtime. Basically all the validation controls on the page will not fire if i set the On Client Click property of the button with the javascript confirm method.
